The work: A performance installation at O Riada Hall June 24th & 25th launching the new live music performance of Siobhán Kavanagh’s ‘Up Jumps Johnny’ and a conversation marking the release of ‘Kate O Shea’s new print work ‘Gravity Express’.

‘Up Jumps Johnny’ is a collection of songs, monologues and tales with two main anti-heroes- Johnny and Nora. These songs portray a story that is not unique- a story of unjust evictions and displacement. Johnny and Nora are mythological beings battling greedy landlords that roam the mainland. Johnny can take it no more and returns to island life. In Johnny's absence the landlords swoop in to evict Nora by force. Nora howls to Johnny roaring his name on the high seas… But what will Johnny do upon his return??
